They understood not, that he spake to them of the Father. Jesus therefore saith to them, When ye shall have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. Upon this Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou release this man, thou art not a friend to Cesar. Whosoever maketh himself a king, opposeth Cesar.

The Jews answered him, We stone thee not for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and shall deceive many.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ: And the time is near.

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, to tell us, if thou art the Christ, the Son of God? Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said. Moreover I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.

What is it which these witness against thee? But he held his peace and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man, sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God?

let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God: let him deliver him now if he will have him; for he said, I am the Son of God.

Who can forgive sins, but God only?

And the scribes and the Pharisees reasoned, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies?

I and the Father are one.

Jesus saith to him, Have I been so long with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how sayest thou, Shew us the Father?
