And she had a sister called Mary, who, also seated at the Lord's feet, was hearing His word.

Now, when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, there came to Him a woman having an alabaster cruse of very precious ointment, and poured it down upon His head, while reclining at table. And the disciples, seeing it, were much displeased, saying, "To what purpose is this waste? read more.

But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was about to betray Him, says, "Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred denaries, and given to the poor?" read more.

Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God.

Let love be without hypocrisy; abhorring that which is evil; cleaving to that which is good;

For this, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not kill," "You shall not steal," "You shall not covet;" and, if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Having purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned brotherly love, love one another from the heart earnestly;
