Furthermore, we used to have the fathers of our flesh as chasteners, and we reverenced them: shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of our spirits, and live?

Jesus, therefore, answered and said to them, "Verily, verily, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father doing; for whatsoever things He doeth, these also, in like manner, the Son doeth.
For I spake not from Myself; but the Father, Who sent Me, Himself hath given Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life eternal. What things, therefore, I speak, even as My Father hath told Me, so I speak."
for He put all things in subjection under His feet. But, when He saith, "All things have been put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted, Who subjected all things to Him. And, when all things shall be subjected to Him, then will the Son also Himself be subjected to Him Who subjected all things to Him, that God may be all in all.
Who, in the days of His flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him Who was able to save Him from death, and having been heard by reason of His godly fear, though He was a Son, learned obedience from the things which He suffered;
Wherefore, coming into the world, He saith, "Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not wish, but a body didst Thou prepare for Me; in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hadst no pleasure. Then said I, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it has been written concerning Me), to do Thy will, O God.'"

Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus; Who, existing originally in the form of God, accounted it not a prize to he equal with God. but emptied Himself, taking a slave's form, coming to be in the likeness of men;
But, as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also let the women be to their husbands in everything.
and He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as Head over all things to the assembly, which, indeed, is His body, the fulness of Him Who is filling all in all.
And He is the Head of the body, the assembly; Who is the Beginning, the First-born from the dead, that in all things He may be preeminent;
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, unto which also ye were called in one body; and become thankful.
And become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. Because, if anyone is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror; for he observed himself, and went away, and straightway he forgot what manner of man he was.read more.
But he who looks carefully into a perfect law??hat of liberty??nd remains by it, becoming not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work??his man shall be happy in his doing.
"I testify to every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone shall add to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and, if anyone shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, even from the things written in this book."
Obey those who are your leaders, and submit to them; for they watch in behalf of your souls, as those who are to give an account; that they may do this with joy, and not with sighing; for this would be unprofitable for you.
Let every soul be in subjection to the authorities that are over him; for there is no authority, except from God; and the authorities that are have been appointed by God.
Now I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruit of Achaia, and that they appointed themselves for ministry to the saints), that ye also submit yourselves to such, and to every one who is laboring with us and toiling.

So that he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those having resisted shall receive to themselves condemnation; for rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall have praise from the same; for he is God's minister to you for good. But, if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger for wrath to him that does evil.read more.
Wherefore, there is necessity that ye submit yourselves, not only because of the wrath, but also because of conscience. For, on this account, ye pay tribute also; for they are God's ministers, attending continually to this very thing. Render to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
Remind them to submit to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work;
Submit yourself to every human ordinance, for the Lord's sake; whether to a king as supreme; or to governors, as sent through him for the punishment of evil-doers, and for praise to those who do well;
the wives, to their own husbands, as to the Lord; because a husband is head of the wife, as Christ also is Head of the assembly; Himself the Savior of the body. But, as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also let the women be to their husbands in everything.
that they may train the young women to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children, to be sober, pure, workers at home, good, submitting themselves to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
In like manner, ye wives, be subject to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they may, without the word, be gained through the conduct of their wives,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" (which, indeed, is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."
but is under guardians and stewards, until the time appointed by the father.
Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is well pleasing in the Lord.
Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul, with good-will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men;read more.
knowing that whatsoever good thing each one does, this shall he receive from the Lord, whether bond or free.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men; knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye are doing service to the Lord, Christ.
Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting, not keeping back anything, but showing forth all good faith; that they may adorn the teaching of our Savior God in all things.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse.
Likewise, ye younger, be subject to the elder; yea, all of you gird on the lowly mind to serve one another; because "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the lowly."
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the assembly, and delivered Himself up for it, that He might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of the water in the word, that He might present to Himself the assembly, glorious, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and without blemish.read more.
So ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as also Christ the assembly; because we are members of His body. For this cause, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless, do ye also, severally, each one, so love his own wife, as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.
And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
I exhort, therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men; for kings, and all who are in high position, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.
The elders, therefore, I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of Christ's sufferings, also a partaker of the glory about to be revealed; feed the flock of God which is among you, overseeing it, not by constraint, but willingly; nor yet for base gain, but of a ready mind; neither as lording it over the allotted charges, but becoming examples to the flock;read more.
and, when the Chief Shepherd is manifested, ye will obtain the unfading crown of glory.
