Let no corrupt discourse proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good, to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking be put away from you with all malice.
Neither obscenity, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient, but rather thanksgiving.
But now put ye also all these things off, anger, wrath, ill-nature, evil speaking, filthy discourse out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing ye have put off the old man with his deeds, And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of him that created him:
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are called to this, to inherit a blessing. For he that loveth life and desireth to see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips, that they speak no guile:
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name.
But ye are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a purchased people, that ye may shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Who in time past were not a people, but now are the people of God;
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks unto God and the Father through him.
And they said, Seven. And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, having given thanks, he brake and gave to his disciples to set before them: and they did set them before the people. And they had a few small fishes: and having blessed them, he commanded, to set them also before them.
Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Therewith bless we God the Father, and therewith curse we man, made after the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart, that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. And I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God. But he that denieth me before man, shall be denied before the angels of God.
Therefore I give you to know, that as no one speaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; so no one can say, Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every one.
And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear:
Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and off-scouring of all things to this day.
And a servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle toward all men, apt to teach, patient of evil, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if haply God may give them repentance, to the acknowledging of the truth;
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart unto the Lord.
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ:
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
But let your conversation be yea, yea; nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these, cometh of the evil one.
