The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard,
Like a watchman’s hut in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.

And now, this is what I will do to my vine-garden: I will take away the circle of thorns round it, and it will be burned up; its wall will be broken down and the beasts of the field will go through it;

Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

So the field commander returned and found the king of Assyria fighting against Libnah, since he had heard that the king of Assyria had left Lachish.

By thy servants thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the recesses of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, the choice of its cypresses; and I will enter into its furthest height, into the forest of its fruitful field.

And their inhabitants, being powerless, were overthrown and put to shame - They became - Grass of the field and Young herbage, Grass on housetops, and Seed parched before it came up.

A voice saying Cry! And one said - What should I cry? All flesh, is grass, And, all the grace thereof, like the flower of the field:

The wild beast of the field shall honour me, Jackals, and ostriches, Because I have given - In the desert, waters, Rivers in, desolate land, To give drink unto my people, my chosen:

And they will come up like grass in a well-watered field, like water-plants by the streams.

Indeed you will go out with joy; you will be led along in peace; the mountains and hills will give a joyful shout before you, and all the trees in the field will clap their hands.

All you beasts of the field, come together for your meat, even all you beasts of the wood.

The spirit of the LORD led them as a tame beast goeth in the field. Thus, O God, hast thou led thy people, to make thyself a glorious name withal.
