I am this living bread that has come down out of heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my own flesh."

Then Jesus said to them, "I most solemnly say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the real bread out of heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the real bread out of heaven,

This is the bread that comes down out of heaven; not as your forefathers ate the manna, and yet died. Whoever continues to eat this bread will live forever."

I did not eat any man's bread without paying for it, but with toil and hard labor I worked night and day, in order not to be a burden to any of you.

Now on the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ we charge and exhort such persons to do their own work with quiet and eat their own bread.

For the first or outer part of the tent, which is called the holy place, was equipped with the lamp and table and the presentation bread.

And the tempter came up and said to Him, "If you are God's Son, order these stones to turn to bread."

But he answered, "The Scripture says, 'Not on bread alone can man live, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Give us today our daily bread for the day.

What human father among you, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

He answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the house dogs."

The disciples said to Him, "Where in this destitute place can we get bread enough to satisfy such a crowd?"

When the disciples crossed the sea, they forgot to take any bread.

Then they began to discuss it among themselves, and said, "It is because we did not take any bread."

Jesus knew it and said, "Why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? Have you so little faith?

How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you about bread, when I said, keep on guarding yourselves against the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees?"

Then they understood that He meant, guard yourselves not against yeast for bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse;

But He answered them, "Give them something to eat yourselves." Then they said to Him, "Shall we go and buy forty dollars' worth of bread and give it to them to eat?"

But He was saying to her, "Let the children first eat all they want, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it out to the house dogs."

But His disciples answered Him, "Where can anyone get bread enough here in this destitute place, to give these people plenty?"

Now they had forgotten to bring any bread; that is, they had only one loaf with them in the boat.

So they were discussing with one another the fact that they had no bread.

And as He noticed it He said to them, "Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet know nor understand? Are your minds so dull?

Now the feast of the Passover and of Unleavened Bread was two days later. So the high priests and scribes kept looking for some way to arrest Him by stratagem and have Him put to death,

On the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, the usual time for killing the Passover lamb, Jesus' disciples asked Him, "Where do you want us to go and get the Passover supper ready for you to eat?"

He answered them, "It is one of the Twelve, the one who is dipping his bread in the dish with me.
