But Pharaoh saw that there was relief, and he hardened his heart, and did not listen to them, even as Jehovah had said.

And they did so. For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth. And it became lice in man and in beast. All the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

And the magicians did so with their secret arts to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice upon man and upon beast.

And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, even as Jehovah had spoken to Moses.

And he that did not regard the Word of Jehovah left his servants and his cattle in the field.

For they covered the face of the whole earth so that the land was darkened. And they ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. And there did not remain any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

And Jehovah turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and threw them into the Red Sea. There did not remain one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

But Jehovah hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go.

They did not see one another, nor did any rise from his place, for three days. But all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.

And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh. And Jehovah hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

And the sons of Israel went away and did as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.

And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants, and all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

And the Egyptians were urging the people, that they might send them out of the land in a hurry. For they said, We are all dead.

And the sons of Israel did according to the word of Moses. And they asked articles of silver, and articles of gold, and clothing from the Egyptians.

So all the sons of Israel did. Even as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, This is because of what Jehovah did for me when I came out from Egypt.

And it happened, when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines although that was near. For God said, Lest the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.

He did not take away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he will follow them. And I will be honored upon Pharaoh, and upon all his army, so that the Egyptians may know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.

Did we not tell you this word in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, so that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

And Moses said to the people, Do not fear. Stand still and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He will prepare for you this day. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them anymore.

And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. And it was a cloudy and dark night, but it lit up the night, so that the one did not come near the other all night.

And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. There did not remain so much as one of them.

So Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians. And Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore.

And when the sons of Israel saw, they said each one to his brother, What is that? For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which Jehovah has given you to eat.

And the sons of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, and some less.

But they did not listen to Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning. And it became rotten with maggots, and stank. And Moses was angry with them.

And he said to them, This is that which Jehovah has said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath to Jehovah. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil. And that which remains over, lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

And they laid it up until the morning, as Moses said. And it did not stink, neither was there any worm in it.

And Moses said, Eat that today. For today is a sabbath to Jehovah. Today you shall not find it in the field.

And it happened some of the people went out on the seventh day in order to gather. And they did not find any.

Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb. And you shall smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, so that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

And Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

And when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing which you do to the people? Why do you sit alone by yourself, and all the people stand by you from morning to evening?

And Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.

And whatever goes on its paws, among all the living things that go on all four, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches their dead body shall be unclean until the evening.

And he that carries their dead bodies shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.

These are unclean to you among all that swarm. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.

And whatever shall fall on any of them when they are dead, shall be unclean, whether any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack; whatever vessel in which work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean to the evening. So it shall be cleaned.

And every thing on which any part of their dead body falls shall be unclean; whether it is the oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down. They are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.

But a fountain or pit, with a collection of water, shall be clean. But that which touches their dead body shall be unclean.

And if any of their dead body falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

But if any water is put on the seed, and any part of the dead body falls on it, it shall be unclean to you.

And if any animal among those you may eat dies, he that touches its dead body shall be unclean until the evening.

And he that eats of its dead body shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. He also that carries its body shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil. And he shall do with that blood as he did with the blood of the young bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy-seat and before the mercy-seat.

And this shall be an everlasting statute to you, to make an atonement for the sons of Israel for their sins once a year. And he did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

And any soul that eats a dead body, or a torn thing, whether a native or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. Then he shall be clean.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people.

And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel that they should bring the despiser outside the camp, and stone him with stones. And the sons of Israel did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

And there were certain men who were defiled by the dead body of a man, so that they could not prepare the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.

And those men said to him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back that we may not offer an offering of Jehovah in its appointed time among the sons of Israel?

Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your generations shall be unclean because of a dead body, or in a journey afar off, he shall still keep the Passover to Jehovah.

But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and holds back from preparing the Passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people. Because he did not bring the offering of Jehovah in His appointed time, that man shall bear his sin.
