And you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger: but bring them up in the instruction and discipline of the Lord. Servants, be subject to your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to the Christ; not with eye-service, as pleasing men, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul; with good will doing service as to the Lord, and not as to men; knowing that whatever good any one does, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he is a servant or a freeman.

When he was reviled, he did not revile again; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously. He himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. By his stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep that had gone astray; but now you have returned to the shepherd and bishop of your souls.
