I charge you before God, and Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that you keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing from partiality.

Then Pilate said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, As you say, I am a king. For this was I born, and for this I came into the world, that I should testify to the truth; every one who is of the truth hears my voice.



and what he has seen and heard this he testifies; and no one receives his testimony.

Jesus answered and said to them, Even if I testify of myself, my testimony is true, for I know whence I came and whither I go; but you know not whence I come or whither I go.







And he said to another, Follow me. And he said, Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father. But he said to him, Let the dead bury their dead, but do you go and proclaim abroad the kingdom of God. If my kingdom had been of this world my officers would have fought for me, that I should not be given up to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not here. Then Pilate said to him, Are you a king then? Pilate said to him, What is truth? And having said this he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find no fault in him. But you have a custom that I should release one to you at the passover; are you willing, therefore, that I should release to you the king of the Jews? Then all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. But Barabbas was a robber.

And you being dead in trespasses and sins,??2 in which you formerly walked according to the life of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit which now operates in the children of disobedience,
