As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.



Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News, and believe.

"Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the nations. They will also listen."

us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?

and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "therefore I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name."



Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.

Tell them, 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?'

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

I said after she had done all these things, 'She will return to me;' but she did not return; and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.


I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, 'You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are the LORD my God.

Restore us, God of Hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.

Turn us, God of our salvation, and cause your indignation toward us to cease.



"Return, backsliding children," says the LORD; "for I am a husband to you. I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

but if you return to me, and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts were in the uttermost part of the heavens, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause my name to dwell there.'

Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.

Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.


Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.

And it shall come to pass in that day that the root of Jesse, that stands for a banner of the peoples; to him shall the nations seek, and his resting place shall be glorious.

For thus says the LORD, "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream: and you will nurse. You will be carried on her side, and will be dandled on her knees.


If a man doesn't relent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.

But they did not listen, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.

Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.



Hear me, LORD, hear me, that this people may know that you, LORD, are God, and that you have turned their heart back again."

When he had greeted them, he reported one by one the things which God had worked among the Gentiles through his ministry.



I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your statutes.



For they themselves report concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you; and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God,


They, being sent on their way by the church, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. They caused great joy to all the brothers.

but they only heard: "He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy." And they glorified God because of me.



My brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.



But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.'"


God, having raised up his Servant, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness."

For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Christ worked through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,



who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.



but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.


I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.


Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways. Sinners shall be converted to you.


In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?" He called a little child to himself, and set him in the midst of them, and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

He took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household. He brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his household, having believed in God.

The woman answered and said to him, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You said well, 'I have no husband,' for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly."

who, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.

They even carried out the sick into the streets, and put them on cots and mats, so that as Peter came by at the least his shadow would fall on some of them.




They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

Jesus said to him, "Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" He said, "Who are you, Lord?" The Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do." The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one. Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank. Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." He said, "Behold, it's me, Lord." The Lord said to him, "Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying, and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight." But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem. Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name." But the Lord said to him, "Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the sons of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake." Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit." Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized. He took food and was strengthened. He stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus. Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, that he is the Son of God. All who heard him were amazed, and said, "Is not this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests." But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Messiah. When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him, but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him, but his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket. When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus. He was with them coming in and going out in Jerusalem, proclaiming boldly in the name of the Lord. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him. When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus. So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
