My son, pay attention to my words, and preserve my commandments within you.

My son, obey your father's command, and do not abandon the law of your mother: Constantly bind them upon your heart, and tie them about your neck.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise. Then it will go well with you, and you may live long on the earth. read more.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of God. Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart, as to Christ. This should not be in the way of eye service, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from a complete heart; with goodwill doing service, as to God, and not to men. You know that whatever good thing each person does, the same shall he receive again from God, whether he be slave or free.

In like manner, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands. Even if your husband does not obey God's word, he may be won without a word by observing the way you live. Your husband could see your chaste behavior coupled with respect (reverence). Your appearance should not come from the outward adornment, things like braiding the hair, and wearing jewels of gold, or wearing fine apparel. read more.
Let your appearance be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit. This is of great value in the sight of God. The holy women of old, who hoped in God, adorned themselves this way, being submissive to their own husbands. Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. You are her children now, if you do what is right and are not fearful. In the same way, you husbands live with your wives in an understanding way. Honor the woman as the weaker vessel. For you are joint-heirs of the grace of life. May your prayers not be hindered (cut-off) (blocked).

Servants should to be in subjection to their masters (overseers) (employers). They should please them in all things and not talk back.

My son, obey your father's command, and do not abandon the law of your mother: Constantly bind them upon your heart, and tie them about your neck.

I counsel you: Keep the king's command because of the oath before God. Do not be in a hurry to leave him. Do not persist in an evil activity, for he does whatever he pleases. There is power (authority) in the word of a king. Who may ask him: What are you doing?
