Behold, blessed is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
My son, do not despise the chastening of Jehovah; nor be weary with His correction;
And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him;
Afflictions » Chastisement, a mark of the father's love
And you have known with your heart, that, as a man chastens his son, so Jehovah your God chastens you.
My son, do not despise the chastening of Jehovah; nor be weary with His correction; for whom Jehovah loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent.
He is also chastened with pain on his bed, and enduring strife in his bones;
Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O Jehovah, to teach him out of Your Law;
O Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away. And every one that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bring forth more fruit.

Therefore since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint.
For this cause we do not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
But we should not lose heart in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.
For this reason I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
And you have borne, and have patience, and for My name's sake you have labored and have not fainted.

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from being their bondmen. And I have broken the bonds of your yoke, and made you go upright. I will also do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, consumption, and burning fever, consuming the eyes and causing sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies. They that hate you shall reign over you. And you shall flee when none pursues you. And if you will not yet listen to Me for all this, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. And I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your heaven like iron and your earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain. For your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the field yield their fruits. And if you walk contrary to Me, and will not listen to Me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. I will also send wild beasts among you, who shall bereave you. And I will destroy your cattle, and make you few. And your highways shall be deserted. And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me, then I will walk contrary to you and will punish you seven times more for your sins. And I will bring a sword on you that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant. And when you are gathered inside your cities, I will send the plague among you. And you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied. And if you will not for all of this listen to Me, but will walk contrary to Me, then I will walk contrary to you also in fury. And I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you, but rejoice according as you are partakers of Christ's suffering, so that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, nor do they seek Jehovah of Hosts.
In vain I have stricken your sons; they received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
I have stricken you with blasting and mildew. When your gardens and your vineyards, and your fig trees. and your olive trees increased, the creeping locust devoured them; yet you have not returned to Me, says Jehovah.
And they blasphemed the God of Heaven because of their pains and their sores. And they did not repent of their deeds.
Why should you be stricken any more? You will revolt more and more; the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
So He has poured on him the fury of His anger, and the strength of battle. And it has set him on fire all around, yet he did not know; and it burned him, yet he did not lay it to heart.
O Jehovah, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have destroyed them, but they have refused to receive correction; they have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to return.
I said, Surely you will fear Me; you will receive instruction; then her dwelling shall not be cut off, all that I appointed for her. But they rose early, corrupting all their doings.

But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.

As a ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon a hearing ear.

Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness; and let him correct me, it is oil on my head, let not my head refuse it; for still my prayer also shall be against their wickedness.
The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a boy sent off causes shame to his mother.
A fool despises his father's instruction, but he who listens to correction is wise.
Open rebuke is better than secret love.
A reproof enters more into a wise man than a thousand stripes into a fool.
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than for a man to hear the song of fools.
