And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me, then I will walk contrary to you and will punish you seven times more for your sins.

Jehovah shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed, and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings by which you have forsaken Me.

And many years You had patience with them, and testified against them by Your Spirit, by Your prophets, but they would not give ear. And You gave them into the hand of the people of the lands.

Behold, blessed is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

You correct a man for iniquity with rebukes, and you make his desires vanish away like a moth. Surely every man is vanity. Selah.

These things you have done, and I have kept silence; you thought that I was like yourself, but I will rebuke you, and set in order before your eyes.

Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O Jehovah, to teach him out of Your Law;

He allowed no man to do them wrong; yea, He reproved kings for their sakes,

You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your Commandments.

Your own evil shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you, therefore know and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken Jehovah your God, and that My fear is not in you, says the Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

For finding fault with them, He said to them, "Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, and I will make an end on the house of Israel and on the house of Judah; a new covenant shall be,

The pillars of the heavens tremble and are astonished at His rebuke.

It is burned with fire, and cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Your holy face.

At Your rebuke they flee; at the voice of Your thunder they hurry away.

Who knows why I have come, and no one is here? I called and no one answered. Is My hand shortened at all so that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.

And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites. For the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen to sacrifice to Jehovah your God. And the rest we have completely destroyed. And Samuel said to Saul, Stop! And I will tell you what Jehovah has said to me tonight. And he said to him, Speak. And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? And Jehovah anointed you king over Israel. And Jehovah sent you on the way and said, Go and completely destroy the sinners, Amalek, and fight against them until you destroy them. Why then did you not obey the voice of Jehovah? Why did you fly on the spoil and do evil in the sight of Jehovah? And Saul said to Samuel, Yes, I have obeyed the voice of Jehovah, and have gone the way which Jehovah sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have completely destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took from the spoil, of the flocks and herd, the best of the things devoted to sacrifice to Jehovah your God in Gilgal. And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To listen is better than the fat of rams! For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idol-worship. Because you have rejected the Word of Jehovah, He has also rejected you from being king! And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned. For I have disobeyed the command of Jehovah, and your word, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. And now please pardon my sin and turn again with me so that I may worship Jehovah. And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you, for you have rejected the Word of Jehovah, and Jehovah has rejected you from being king over Israel.

And it happened afterward David's heart struck him because he had cut off Saul's skirt. And he said to his men, Far be it from me, by Jehovah, if I will do this thing to my lord, Jehovah's anointed, to stretch forth my hand against him, since he is the anointed of Jehovah. And David held back his men with words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul rose up out of the cave and went on his way.

And Jehovah sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said to him, There were two men in one city, one rich and one poor. The rich one had exceeding many flocks and herds, but the poor one had nothing except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished up. And it grew up together with him and with his sons. And if that was too little, I would have given to you such and such things besides. Why have you despised the Word of Jehovah, to do evil in His sight? You have stricken Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the sons of Ammon. And therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. So says Jehovah, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor. And he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of Jehovah, and you have followed the Baals.

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves to Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month. And all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain. And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, You have sinned, and have taken strange women to increase the sin of Israel. And now confess to Jehovah, the God of your fathers, and do His pleasure. Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; they are a trouble to Me; I am weary to bear them. Hear the Word of Jehovah, sons of Israel. For Jehovah has a quarrel with the people of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. There is lying, and swearing, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery; and blood touches blood. I also will laugh at your trouble; I will mock when your fear comes;

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life;

He who keeps instruction is in the way of life; but he who refuses reproof goes astray.

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge; but he who hates correction is like a brute animal.

Correction is grievous to him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof shall die.

A reproof enters more into a wise man than a thousand stripes into a fool.

Strike a scorner, and the simple will beware; reprove one who has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

One rebuking a scorner gets shame to himself; and one rebuking a wicked one gets himself a blemish. Do not reprove a scorner, lest he hate you; give to a wise man, and he will love you.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall always rebuke your neighbor, and not allow sin on him.

But if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother trespasses against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him.

Brothers, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.

whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, so that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Do not sharply rebuke an elder, but exhort as a father, and the younger ones as brothers,

Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear.

All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

holding fast the faithful Word according to the doctrine, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and to convict the gainsayers.

Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Brothers, if anyone among you err from the truth, and if anyone turns him back, know that he who turns back the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him;

Let all your things be done in charity.

for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives."

for whom Jehovah loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent.
