Is not the life of man upon earth a very battle? Are not his days like the days of a hired servant? For like as a bond servant desireth the shadow, and as a hireling would fain have an end of his work: Even so have I laboured whole months long - but in vain - and many a careful night have I told.

He answered to one of them, saying, 'Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny?' Take that which is thy duty, and go thy way. I will give unto this last, as much as to thee. Is it not lawful for me to do as me listeth, with mine own? Is thine eye evil because I am good?

I am come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
