When they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon the son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?" He said unto him, "Yea Lord, thou knowest, that I love thee." He said unto him, "Feed my lambs."

Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy ghost; teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I commanded you. And lo, I am with you always even until the end of the world."

And he ordained the twelve that they should be with him, and that he might send them to preach. And that they might have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils.

And he called the twelve, and began to send them, two and two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. And commanded them, that they should take nothing unto their Journey, save a rod only: Neither scrip, neither bread, neither money in their purses: but should be shod with sandals. And that they should not put on two coats. read more.
And he said unto them, "Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet, for a witness unto them. I say verily unto you, it shall be easier for Sodom and Gomorra, at the day of judgment, than for that city."

Then called he the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and that they might heal diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to cure the sick. And he said to them, "Take no thing to succor you by the way: neither staff, nor scrip, neither bread neither money, neither have two coats. read more.
And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet, for a testimony against them."

Ye are they which have bidden with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my father hath appointed to me: that ye may eat, and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on seats, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel."

Whosoever's sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them: And whosoever's sins ye retain, they are retained."

And thou shalt show thy son at that time, saying, 'This is done, because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came out of Egypt.' Therefore it shall be a sign unto thee upon thine hand and a remembrance between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth. For with a strong hand the LORD brought thee out of Egypt; see thou keep therefore this ordinance in his season from year to year.

And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, 'What is this?' Thou shalt say unto him, 'With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. And when Pharaoh was loath to let us go, the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt: as well the firstborn of men as of beasts. And therefore I sacrifice unto the LORD all the males that open the matrix, but all the firstborn of my children I must redeem.' And this shall be as a token in thine hand, and as a thing hanged up between thine eyes: because the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand."

Take heed to thyself therefore only and keep thy soul diligently, that thou forget not the things which thine eyes have seen, and that they depart not out of thine heart, all the days of thine life: but teach them thy sons, and thy son's sons. The day that I stood before the LORD your God in Horeb - when he said unto me, 'Gather me the people together, that I may make them hear my words that they may learn to fear me as long as they live upon the earth and that they may teach their children' -

And these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt whet them on thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou art at home in thine house and as thou walkest by the way; and when thou liest down and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand. And they shall be papers of remembrance between thine eyes, read more.
and shalt write them upon the posts of thy house and upon thy gates.

and teach them your children: so that thou talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down and when thou risest up: yea, and write them upon the doorposts of thine house and upon thy gates,

Gather the people together: both men, women and children and the strangers that are in thy cities, that they may hear, learn and fear the LORD your God, and be diligent to keep all the words of this law, and that their children which know nothing may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it."

so that there was not one word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not - before all the congregation of Israel, with women and children and the strangers that were among them.

{An Instruction of Asaph} Hear my law, O my people; incline your ears unto the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in similitudes, and will speak forth things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world; which we have heard and known, and such as our fathers have told us, read more.
that we should not hide them from the children of the generations to come but to show the honour of the LORD, his mighty and wonderful works that he hath done. He made a covenant with Jacob, and gave Israel a law, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, that their posterity might know it, and the children which were yet unborn, to the intent that when they came up, they might show their children the same; that they also might put their trust in God, and not to forget what he had done, but to keep his commandments. And not to be as their forefathers, a faithless and stubborn generation, a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not true toward God.

The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David king of Israel:

That the very babes might have wit, and that young men might have knowledge and understanding.

Whom then shall such one teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand the thing that he heareth? For they are as ignorant as young children, which are weeded from suck or taken from the breasts. Command that may be commanded, bid that may be bidden, forbid that may be forbidden, keep back that may be kept back, here a little, there a little.

Tell your children of it, and let them show it to their children, and so they - to certify their posterity thereof.

And he said, "I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia: nevertheless yet brought up in this city, at the feet of Gamaliel, and informed diligently in the law of the fathers, and was fervent minded to Godward, as ye all are this same day,

Whosoever therefore shall knowledge me before men, him will I knowledge also before my father which is in heaven. After that, Jesus showed himself again at the sea of Tiberias. And on this wise showed he himself: There were together Simon Peter and Thomas, which is called Didymus: and Nathaniel of Cana a city of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of the disciples. Simon Peter said unto them, "I go a fishing." They said unto him, "We also will go with thee." They went their way and entered into a ship straightway, and that night caught they nothing. read more.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore. Nevertheless, the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus said unto them, "Sirs, have ye any meat?" They answered him no. And he said unto them, "Cast out the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find." They cast out, and anon they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Then said the disciple whom Jesus loved unto Peter, "It is the Lord." When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girded his mantle to him, for he was naked, and sprang into the sea. The other disciples came by ship: For they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits; And they drew the net with fishes. As soon as they were come to land, they saw hot coals laid and fish laid thereon, and bread. Jesus said unto them, "Bring of the fishes which ye have now caught." Simon Peter stepped forth and drew the net to land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty three. And for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. Jesus said unto them, "Come and dine." And none of the disciples durst ask him, "What art thou?" For they knew that it was the Lord. Jesus then came and took bread, and gave them, and fish likewise. And this is now the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples, after that he was risen again from death. When they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon the son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?" He said unto him, "Yea Lord, thou knowest, that I love thee." That spake he signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said thus, he said to him, "Follow me." Peter turned about, and saw that disciple whom Jesus loved following, which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, "Lord which is he that shall betray thee?" When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord what shall he here do?" Jesus said unto him, "If I will have him to tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me." Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. And yet Jesus said not to him, he shall not die: but, "If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?"
