Since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him requesting that he come to them quickly.



Send men to Joppa to bring back Simon, whose surname is Peter:

He told them what happened and sent them to Joppa.



You brothers became imitators of the congregations of God that are in Judea in Christ Jesus. You also suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews.

A disciple of Jesus named Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea,

Joseph of Arimathaea was a disciple of Jesus. He approached Pilate secretly for fear of the Jews. He asked Pilate for permission to take away the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission. So he took the body away.





Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away.

A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived at Bethany where his sisters Mary and Martha lived.


Jesus answered: A man traveled from Jerusalem to Jericho. He fell among robbers. They stripped him, beat him and left him half dead.



After that Jesus walked in Galilee. He would not walk in Judea because the Jews looked for ways to kill him.

Daniel was brought before the king. The king spoke to Daniel: Are you that Daniel, one of the exiles of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?


Mary traveled with haste to the city of Judah in the hill country.

Everyone nearby was in fear. These accounts spread abroad throughout all the hill country of Judea.


When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he called together one hundred and eighty thousand of the best soldiers from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. He wanted to go to war and restore his control over the northern tribes of Israel. But God told the prophet Shemaiah: Give this message to Rehoboam and to all the people of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin: read more.
Do not attack the people of Israel, your own relatives. All of you go home. What has happened is my will.' They all obeyed Jehovah's command and went home.


They were near Jerusalem at Bethphage. Jesus sent two disciples to the Mount of Olives.


Because of this, large crowds followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the land on the other side of the Jordan.

The Lord was aware that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John. Actually Jesus did not baptize. His disciples baptized. He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.


That day two of them traveled to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.


Jesus did not walk openly among the Jews anymore. He departed into the wilderness of the nearby country. He and his disciples stayed at a city called Ephraim.


After this he said to the disciples: Let us go to Judea again.


Philip was seen passing through Azotus. He preached in all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.




It was the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar. Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea. Herod served as tetrarch of Galilee. Herod's brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis. Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene.
