Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth. Bless ed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful; for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called sons of God. You are the light of the world: a city that lies upon a mountain can not be hid: neither do men light a lamp and place it under the measure, but on the lamp-stand, and it gives light to all that are in the house. In this way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

For I think that God has appointed us the apostles, to the lowest place, as under sentence of death; for we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honored, but we are despised. Even to this present hour we both hunger and thirst, and are poorly clothed, and are maltreated, and wander about without a home, read more.
and labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when defamed, we entreat; we have become like the outcasts of the world, the offscouring of all things to this day.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For you have not again received the spirit of bondage, that you may fear; but you have received the spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself testifies with our spirit, that we are the children of God; read more.
and, if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.

Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? What communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? What connection has a believer with an unbeliever? What has a temple of God in common with one of idols?
