John answered them, saying, "I baptise with water: but one is come among you, whom ye know not.



Jesus answered and said unto her, "If thou knowest the gift of God, and who it is, that sayeth to thee, 'Give me drink': thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee water of life."

Then said they unto him, "Where is thy father?" Jesus answered, "Ye neither know me, nor yet my father. If ye had known me, ye should have known my father also."

The man answered, and said unto them, "This is a marvelous thing that ye know not whence he is, seeing he opened mine eyes.


The inhabiters of Jerusalem, and their rulers: because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day; they have fulfilled them in condemning him.



Either, remember ye not, that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I now take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid.




Let therefore abide in you that same which ye heard at the beginning. If that which ye heard at the beginning shall remain in you, then ye also shall continue in the son, and in the father.


And the Pharisees came and asked him a question, whether it were lawful for a man to put away his wife, to prove him.

And this they said to tempt him: that they might have, whereof to accuse him. Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, "Master what shall I do, to inherit eternal life?"


He perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, "Why tempt ye me?


And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him and touched the hem of his vesture: For she said in herself, "If I may touch but even his vesture only I shall be safe." Then Jesus turned him about, and beheld her, saying, "Daughter, be of good comfort, thy faith hath made thee safe." And she was made whole even that same hour.

For he had healed many, insomuch that they pressed upon him, for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

And when they were come over, they went into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were sick, and besought him, that they might touch the hem of his vesture only. And as many as touched it, were made whole.

And all the people pressed to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.


This voice we heard when it came from heaven, being with him in the holy mount.


And after six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up into a high mountain out of the way alone, and he was transfigured before them.




Pilate said unto him, "Art thou a King then?" Jesus answered, "Thou sayest that I am a King. For this cause was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. And all that are of the truth hear my voice."
