{To the Chanter, a Psalm of David} The fool hath said in his heart, "Tush, there is no God." They are corrupt, and become abominable in their doings; there is none that doeth good, no not one.
{To the Chanter, upon Mahalath, an instruction of David} The foolish bodies say in their hearts, "Tush, there is no God." Corrupt are they, and become abominable in their wickednesses, there is not one that doeth good.
So that his invisible things, that is to say, his eternal power and godhead, are understood and seen by the works from the creation of the world. So that they are without excuse, inasmuch as when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful: but waxed full of vanities in their imaginations. And their foolish hearts were blinded. When they counted themselves wise, they became foolsread more.
and turned the glory of the immortal God, unto the similitude of the image: of mortal man, and of birds, and four footed beasts and of serpents. Which men, though they knew the righteousness of God, how that they which such things commit are worthy of death: yet not only do the same, but also have pleasure in them that do them.
remember, I say, that ye were at that time without Christ, and were reputed aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and were strangers from the testaments of promise, and had no hope, and were without God in this world.
And the remnant of the men which were not killed by these plagues repented not of the deeds of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and images, of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood, which neither can see, neither hear, neither go.
Behold, they say unto me, "Where is the word of the LORD? Let it come to pass!"
This first understand: that there shall come in the last days mockers, which will walk after their own lusts and say, "Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers died all things continue in the same estate wherein they were at the beginning."
Ye see, then, how that of deeds a man is justified, and not of faith only.

and one that can suffer the evil in meekness, and can inform them that resist - if that God at any time will give them repentance for to know the truth - that they may come to themselves again out of the snare of the devil, which are now taken of him at his will.
For the natural man perceiveth not the things of the spirit of God, for they are but foolishness unto him: Neither can he perceive them, because he is spiritually examined.
Beware lest any man come and spoil you through philosophy and deceitful vanity, through the traditions of men, and ordinances after the world, and not after Christ.
