Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with singing. The LORD has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline, neither be weary of his reproof:
LORD, in trouble they have visited you. They poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.
Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire all around, but he did not know; and it burned him, but he did not take it to heart."
Surely he has borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains; yet we considered him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
