For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Whether then we live or die, we are the Lords.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if to live in the flesh, if this is to me the fruit of my labor, then what I should choose, I cannot say; but I am held in a strait by the two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; for it is far better;
For I am already about to be offered as a sacrifice, and the time of my departure is at hand. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he have died, will live; and whoever liveth and believeth in me will never die. Believest thou this?
and he that liveth; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore; and I have the keys of death and the underworld.
