For our tribulation, which is momentary and light, prepares an exceeding and eternal weight of glory unto us; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
And know in thine heart, that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD thy God chastens thee. If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
Behold, blessed is the man whom God chastens; therefore, do not despise not the correction of the Almighty. For he makes sore, and binds up; he wounds, and his hands make whole.
Cause us to learn this that we might number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
