Then they said to Him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus responded and said to them, This is the work of God, that you may believe on Him whom He hath sent.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or if not, believe for the sake of the works themselves.

Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I say, Have they not all heard? Yea, truly, Their sound has gone out into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But so many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become the children of God, to those believing on His name:
