But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, "Go away for the present, and when I find time I will summon you."

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Working together with him, then, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says, "At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years.read more.

Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty.read more.
But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."
Now in the morning, a long while before daylight, he rose and went out to a solitary place, and there he prayed.
For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God's ministers, attending to this very thing.
And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
He must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity

Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. So he was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Greeks, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be there.
