But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

And you will be hated by all men for my name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

He delivered us from so deadly a peril, and he will deliver us; on him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
