Now it was the feast of dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter.

By faith he observed the passover and sprinkling of the blood, that he, who destroyed the first-born of the Egyptians, might not touch them.

They therefore gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained after they had eaten.

Therefore they made Him a supper there, and Martha waited at table, but Lazarus was one of them that sat down with Him.

And Levi made Him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great number of publicans, and others at table with them.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord.

And he said unto me, Write, Happy they who are invited to the marriage-supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true words of God.

And as they were at table, Jesus took bread, and when He had blessed it He brake it, and gave it to them, and said, Take, eat, This is my body:

Then he sent other servants, saying, Tell them that are invited, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come to the wedding.

Upon which He said, A certain man made a great supper and invited many;

For the passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those that sold oxen,

And when he was in Jerusalem at the passover on the feast-day, many believed in his name, seeing his miracles, which He wrought.

And He said unto them, I have earnestly desired to eat of this passover with you before I suffer:

Now upon the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, came the disciples to Jesus, saying, where wouldest thou have us make preparation for thee to eat the passover? And when the evening was come, He sat down with the twelve:

for I tell you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste of my supper.

Upon which He said, A certain man made a great supper and invited many; and sent his servant at supper-time to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuses; the first said, I have bought a field, and I must go and see it, pray have me excused. read more.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and am going to try them, pray have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So the servant came and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go directly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the lame, and the blind. And the servant said, Sir, it is done according to thine order, and still there is room. And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the high-ways and hedges, and press them to come in, that my house may be filled: for I tell you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste of my supper.

And Jesus resuming his discourse spake unto them again in parables, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding-feast for his son; and sent his servants to call those that were invited to the wedding: and they would not come. read more.
Then he sent other servants, saying, Tell them that are invited, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come to the wedding. But they slighted him, and went away, one to his field and another to his merchandize: and others seized his servants, and shamefully abused them, and slew them. And when the king heard of it, he was highly provoked, and sent his troops, and destroyed those murderers, and burnt their city. Then saith he to his servants, The feast is ready, but they that were invited were not worthy of it: go therefore into the public streets, and as many as ye meet with invite to the wedding. And those servants went out into the high-ways, and brought in all they met with, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man that had not put on a wedding-garment, and saith to him, Friend, how camest thou in here without a wedding-garment? and he was struck speechless. Then said the king to his attendants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him up, and throw him out into the darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth: for there are many called, but few approved.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together to the banquet of the great God;

After these things, Paul purposed in spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia, and go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

Now after several years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, that he might not spend time in Asia: for he endeavoured, if it were possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

And after the days of unleavened bread we sailed from Philippi, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we spent seven days.

saying, I must by all means keep the approaching feast at Jerusalem; but I will return to you again, God willing. So he sailed from Ephesus;

brought an alabaster-box of ointment, and stood at his feet behind Him, weeping, and washed his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

And he, reclining on the breast of Jesus, saith unto Him, Lord, who is it?

But his elder son was out in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing:

And among those that came up to worship at the feast there were certain Greeks:

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven as of a strong rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them divided tongues, as it were of fire, and it sat upon each of them: read more.
and they were all filled with the holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this rumor was spread, the multitude came together and were astonished; for every one heard them speaking in his own language. And they were all amazed and wondered, saying to one another, Behold, are not all these, that are speaking, Galileans? and how do we every one hear them in our own native tongue? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those that dwell in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Capadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers from Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.

When thou art invited by any one to a wedding, do not sit down in the uppermost place, least one more honorable than thou be invited by him; and he who invited thee and him, should come and say to thee, Give place to this person, and then thou begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when thou art invited, go and sit down at the lowest place, that, when he who invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then wilt thou have honor before them that sit at table with thee:

Now his parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover:

But a convenient day happening, when Herod on his birth-night gave a supper to his lords, and chief officers, and persons of distinction in Galilee; and the daughter of Herodias coming in,

But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod, so

And on the third day after, there was a marriage at Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there.

and He answered, he that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, even he will betray me.
