A jar of sour wine was standing there, so they put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to his mouth. After Jesus had taken the wine, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.

As they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were utterly astonished. But he told them, "Stop being astonished! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. Look at the place where they laid him.

Responding to the women, the angel said, "Stop being frightened! I know you're looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here. He has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying.

While they were puzzling over this, two men in dazzling robes suddenly stood beside them. While the women remained terrified, bowing their faces to the ground, the men asked them, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is living? He is not here, but has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee:

Later, he led them out as far as Bethany, lifted up his hands, and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven.

After saying this, Jesus was taken up while those who had gathered together were watching, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

When the day of Pentecost was being celebrated, all of them were together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like the roar of a mighty windstorm came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated, and one rested on each of them. read more.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in foreign languages as the Spirit gave them that ability.
