20 Bible Verses about Leadership

because in him all the fullness of deity dwells bodily,

So then, let no one boast in people. For all [things] are yours,

But Moses said to God, "Who [am] I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the {Israelites} out from Egypt?"

He said to him, "Excuse me, my lord. How will I deliver Israel? Look, my clan [is] the weakest in Manasseh, and I [am] the youngest in my father's house."

And I said, "Woe to me! For I am destroyed! For I [am] a man {of unclean lips}, and I [am] living among a people {of unclean lips}, for my eyes have seen the king, Yahweh of hosts!"

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you; {considering the outcome of their way of life}, imitate their faith.

Now it happened that in these days he went away to the mountain to pray, and was spending the whole night in prayer to God. Brothers, even if a person is caught in some trespass, you [who are] spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of humility, looking out for yourself, lest you also be tempted.

and not as lording it over {those under your care}, but being examples for the flock.

Obey your leaders and submit [to them], for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not [with] groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.

Your princes [are] rebels and companions of thieves. Every one loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not defend [the] orphan and [the] legal dispute of [the] widow does not come before them.

Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and rule over you in the Lord and admonish you,

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life [as] a ransom for many."

But it is not like this among you! But whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

The hand of the diligent ones will rule, but the lazy will belong to forced labor.
