Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORDwatches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: "'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

Have you not read this Scripture: "'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;

But he looked directly at them and said, "What then is this that is written: "'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone'?

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw--read more.
each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses--as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.

So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"

At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort, a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God.
