doing nothing in strife and vain glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Consider not each one his own gifts, but each one also the gifts of others.
Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died: rather, indeed, that has risen, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Wherefore, he is able also to save through all time those who come to God by him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
My little children, I write these things to you, that you may not sin: and yet, if any one sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
In like manner, also, the Spirit helps our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes for us, with groanings unutterable. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, that he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
But I say to you, Love your enemies: bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you:
And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And dividing his clothing into parts, they cast lots.
And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice: Lord, let not this sin stand against them. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. And Saul was well pleased with his death.
praying with all prayer and supplication, at all times, in the Spirit; and to this end being watchful in all perseverance, and supplication for all the saints:
Pray for us: for we trust that we have a good conscience, willing to live honor ably in all things. And I the more earnestly entreat you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Is any one among you sick? let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick; and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be restored to health: the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
If any one see his brother sinning a sin not to death, he shall ask, and he will give him life for those who sin not to death. There is a sin to death: I do not say concerning this, that he should ask.
I exhort, therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and gravity.
And when he entered Capernaum, there came to him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying: Lord, my servant lies in my house, palsied, fearfully afflicted. And Jesus said to him: I will go and cure him.read more.
And the centurion answering, said: Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof; but say in a word only, and my servant shall be restored to health. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to an other, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it. And when Jesus heard it, he was filled with admiration, and said to those who followed him: Verily I say to you, not even in Israel have I found so great faith. I also say to you, That many shall come from the east and the west, and shall recline with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast into the darkness that is without. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said to the centurion: Go, and as you have believed, so be it to you. And his servant was restored to health in that hour.
And when he had ended all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he went into Capernaum. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and about to die. But when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, and besought him to come and save his servant.read more.
And they came to Jesus, and besought him earnestly, saying: He is worthy for whom thou shouldst do this; for he loves our nation, and of his own accord has built us a synagogue. And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, and said to him: Lord, give thyself no trouble; for I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof. For which reason, neither did I count myself worthy to go to thee; but command in a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man placed under authority, and have soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it. And when Jesus heard these things, he was filled with admiration for him; and, turning to the multitude that followed, he said: I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith. And they that had been sent, returned to the house, and found the servant that had been sick restored to health.
And Jesus went out thence, and withdrew into the regions of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Chanaan came out from those borders, and cried to him, saying: Have mercy on me, Lord, son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying: Send her away, for she cries after us.read more.
But he answered and said: I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But she came and did him homage, saying: Lord, help me. He answered and said: It is not good to take the children's bread, and throw it to the little dogs. She replied: Yes, Lord; and yet thou canst help me; for the little dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the table of their masters. Then Jesus answered and said to her: woman, great is your faith; be it to you as you desire. And her daughter was restored to health from that hour.
And he arose and departed thence to the borders of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house, and desired that no one should know it; but he could not escape notice. For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet; (the woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation,) and she besought him to cast the demon out of her daughter.read more.
But Jesus said to her: Let the children be satisfied first; for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs. She answered and said to him: Yes, Lord; and yd you can help me, for the little dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. And he said to her: For this saying, go your way: the demon has gone out of your daughter. And she went to her house, and found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying upon the bed.
And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a man who knelt to him, and said: Lord, have mercy on my son; for ho is a lunatic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to cure him.read more.
Jesus answered and said: faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the demon, and he came out of him: and the child was cured from that hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said: Why were we not able to cast him out? And Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For verily I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard-seed, you shall say to this mountain, Be removed from this place to that, and it shall be removed: and nothing shall be impossible for you.
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and scribes disputing with them. And at once, all the multitude, on seeing him, were struck with awe, and ran to him and saluted him. And he asked the scribes: Why are you disputing with, them?read more.
And one of the multitude answered and said: Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a dumb spirit. And wherever it seizes him, it throws him into convulsions; and he foams, and gnashes with his teeth, and pines away: and I spoke to your disciples to cast him out, and they were not able. And he answered them, and said: faithless generation! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me. And they brought him to him. And when he saw him, the spirit immediately threw him into convulsions; and he fell on the ground, and rolled himself, foaming. And he asked his father: How long is it since this came upon him? He replied: From childhood. And often it throws him into the fire, and into the water, to destroy him. But if you are able to do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said to him: If you are able to believe, all things are possible to him that believes. And immediately the father of the child cried out, and with tears said: Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, and said to it: Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter into him no more. And the spirit cried out, and threw him into strong convulsions, and came out of him; and he was like one dead, so that many said: He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up, and he arose. And when he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately: Why were we not able to cast it out? And he said to them: This kind can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
And it came to pass, that, on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. And, behold, a man from the multitude cried out, saying: Teacher, I beseech thee, look upon my son, for he is my only child; and, behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out, and it throws him into convulsions, and causes him to foam, and after depriving him of strength, hardly departs from him.read more.
And I entreated thy disciples to cast it out; but they were not able. And Jesus answering, said: unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you! Bring your son hither. And while he was coming, the demon cast him to the ground, and threw him into convulsions; but Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and restored the child to health, and gave him back to his father.
I have made known thy name to the men that thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou gavest them, to me, and they have kept thy word. Now they know that all things that thou hast given me are from thee; for the words which thou gavest me I have given them; and they have received them, and they know surely that I came forth from thee, and they believe that thou didst send me.read more.

As thou hast sent me into the world, so I send them into the world; and for them I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth. I pray, not for these only, but for those also who shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them, that they may be one, as we are one; I in them, and thou ID me, that they may be made perfect in one, that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I wish that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me; for thou didst love me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world has not known thee, yet I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have made known to them thy name, and will continue to make it known, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
For this reason I also, since I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love to all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the acknowledgment of him,read more.
that, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the glorious riches of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to ward us who believe in accordance with the energy of his mighty power, which he made active in the Christ when he raised him from the dead, and caused him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, high above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come;
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth is named, that he may grant to you, according to the riches of his glory, to be mightily strengthened by his Spirit in the inner man,read more.
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through the faith; that, being rooted and founded in love, you may be fully able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and hight, and to know the love of the Christ that passes our knowledge, that you may be filled with aft the fullness of God. Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to his power which works in us, to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus, through out all the generations of the age of ages. For this reason, we also, from the day in which we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to request that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, in order to please him in all things, by means of every good work bringing forth fruit, and increasing in the knowledge, of God, strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, in order to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness,read more.
giving thanks to the Father, who has made us fit for a portion of the inheritance of the saints in light: who has delivered us from the authority of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his beloved Son,
