Joseph came from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea to be counted and taxed. He went to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. That was because there was no room for them in the inn.

The angel spoke to them: Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy to all the people. Christ (Messiah) the Lord, a Savior, is born this day in the city of David. This is the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.

Joseph had this in mind when God's angel appeared to him in a dream. The angel said to him: Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. She is pregnant by Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus (Jehovah (YHWH) is salvation), because he will save his people from their sins.

The angel said to Mary: Do not fear for you have found favor with God. You will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son. You will call his name Jesus. He will be great. He will be called the Son of the Most High. Jehovah God will give him the throne of his father David. (Isaiah 11:1-10)read more.
He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will not end. Mary asked the angel: How is this to be for I have had no intercourse with a man? The angel replied: Holy Spirit would come to you and the power of the Most High will envelope you. Because of this the newborn will be called the Son of God.

The Word [Jesus] became flesh (a human being) and lived with us. We saw the glory of the only begotten son from the Father. He was full of loving-kindness and truth.

The true light, which gives light to every man, came into the world. (Isaiah 49:6)

God did what the Law could not do, because human nature was weak. He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering and do away with sin. So he condemned sin in sinful human nature.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

When the full time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

He existed in the form (shape and nature) of God but did not try to be equal with God. He did not even consider it! He emptied (humbled) himself by taking the form of a servant. He was made in the likeness of men.

The secret of godliness is great and it is without controversy. 'He (Jesus Christ) was manifested (revealed) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, and seen by angels. He preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, and received up in glory.'

Since the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also took part of the same things, that through death he might destroy him that had the power to cause death, [Satan] the Devil.

We have heard that which was from the beginning. We have also seen it with our own eyes. We looked at it and touched it with our hands. It is the Word of life. The life was made known and we have seen and testify about it. We declare the life to you. It is the eternal life, which was with the Father and was shown to us.

He committed no sin and deception was not found in him.

He was buried like a criminal in a rich mans grave. He had done no wrong, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

He made the one who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf. That way we might become the righteousness of God in him.

We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin!

Such a high priest as this was suitable for us. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and higher than the heavens. He does not have a day-by-day need as the high priests do, first to offer up sacrifices for his own sins, then for those of the people. He sacrificed for sin once for all when he offered up himself. The Law appoints men as high priests who have weakness. But the oath that came after the Law appointed the Son who is perfect forever.

You know that he appeared to take away sins. There is no sin in him!

He obtained the appearance as a man, humbled himself, and became obedient even to death, yes, death on the stake.

Jesus cried again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.

We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation (restoration) (atonement) (divine favor).

I came to strike fire upon the earth and what do I care if it is already kindled? I have a baptism to experience and I am distressed until it is accomplished!

Did the Christ need to suffer these things and enter into his glory?

I glorified you on the earth. I accomplished the work you gave me to do.

You took this man and delivered him by the determined counsel (purpose) and foreknowledge of God. With wicked hands you impaled and murdered him.

Through the disobedience of one man many have been made sinners. Yet through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.

We preach Christ impaled. It is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the nations! To those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, it is Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

He bore our sins in his body upon the stake, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed because of his wounds (stripes).

They were perplexed about what had happened. Two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. This frightened them and they bowed down prostrate on the ground. The two men said to them: Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here. He has arisen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was yet in Galilee. Mary Magdalene arrived at the tomb early on the first day of the week while it was still dark. She saw the stone was taken away from the tomb. She ran to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and said to them: They have taken the Lord away out of the tomb. We do not know where they laid him. Peter and the other disciple went to the tomb.read more.
They both ran together. The other disciple out ran Peter and got to the tomb first. He stooped and looked inside where he saw the linen clothes. He did not enter. Simon Peter followed him to the tomb and entered to see the linen clothes laying there. The napkin that was on his head was not with the linen clothes. It was rolled up by itself. The other disciple entered the tomb. He saw and believed. They still did not know the Scripture that he must rise from the dead.

Remember that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. He is a descendant of David, according to my good news. I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal. But the word of God is not imprisoned. For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is worth nothing, and your faith is also without value.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. We died to sin! How could we any longer live in it? Or are you ignorant to the fact that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?read more.
We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death. Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, that we might walk in the newness of life. Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Death came because of what one man did. The resurrection of the dead also comes because of what one man did.

When he said these things, while they watched, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

After he had spoken to them the Lord Jesus, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

He led them out until they were near Bethany. Then he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

The first account I composed, O Theophilus, was about all that Jesus did and taught, until the day he was received up to heaven. After that he gave orders through the Holy Spirit to his chosen apostles.

He is exalted to the right hand of God. He has received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father. So he poured out what you now see and hear.

Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

If you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

God's Son is the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his being. He sustains all things by his powerful word. After Jesus purged our sins, he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Look to (consider without distractions) Jesus, the Leader (Predecessor) and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith. He despised the shame. He endured the stake for the joy that was set before him. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
