be not deceived, God will not be mocked: for what a man soweth, that shall he also reap: he that soweth to his vices, shall reap the deadly fruit of his vices; but he that sows to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap everlasting life. let us then not be weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we be not tired.

since it is agreeable to his justice to afflict those in their turn, who afflict you:

Therefore we ought to give the greater attention to the things we have heard, for fear we should abandon the gospel. for if the law deliver'd by angels was put in execution, and every transgression and disobedience was justly punish'd as it deserv'd;

if you lend with the expectation of gaining by it, where's the obligation? for the heathen lend to one another, for the prospect of an equivalent. but as for you, love your enemies, do good, and lend without expecting any advantage from it: so shall your reward be great, in acting like the children of the most high: for he is kind to the most ungrateful wretches.

having Jesus in our view, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down on the right hand of the throne of God. for you should consider how he endured such opposition from sinners against himself, lest ye be tired out, and quite despond.

Blessed are they who are persecuted upon the account of righteousness: for their's is the kingdom of heaven.

and those who will live like Christians, shall generally suffer persecution.
