For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."
Is this blessedness only upon the circumcised, or also upon the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.
Even so Abraham "believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."
and the scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness", and he was called the friend of God.

The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that he would be heir of the world, was not through the law but through the righteousness of faith.
For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

and it was to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach);
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you will all the nations be blessed."
So the law was our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in godly fear prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.
