You must have a turn of mind that is free from avarice; you must be content with what you have, for God Himself has said, "I will never fail you, I will never forsake you."

Then some soldiers too were asking him, "What ought we too to do?" So he said to them, "Never extort money from anyone, never make a false accusation, and always be satisfied with your wages."

You are not greater than our forefather Jacob, are you, who gave us this well, and drank from it himself, with all his sons and flocks?" Jesus answered her, "Anyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never, no never, be thirsty again, for the water that I will give him will become a spring of water that keeps on bubbling up within him for eternal life." The woman said to Him, "Give me this water at once, sir, so I may never get thirsty again, nor have to come so far to draw water."

But when it was evening, His disciples came to Him and said, "This is a destitute place, and the day is over; send the crowds off to the villages to buy themselves food." But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to leave here; give them something to eat yourselves." They said to Him, "We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish."read more.
He said, "Bring them here to me." After ordering the crowds to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed them; then He broke the loaves in pieces and gave them to the disciples, and they gave them to the people. And they all ate and had aplenty. Then they took up the pieces left over, which made twelve basketfuls.

When it grew late, His disciples came to Him and said, "This is a destitute place and it is already late. Send the crowds off to the farms and villages to buy themselves something to eat." But He answered them, "Give them something to eat yourselves." Then they said to Him, "Shall we go and buy forty dollars' worth of bread and give it to them to eat?"read more.
Then He asked them, "How many loaves have you? Go and see." They found out and told Him, "Five, and two fish." Then He ordered them all to sit down in rows on the green grass. And so they tumbled down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed the loaves and broke them in pieces and gave the pieces to the disciples to pass on to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. And they all ate and had plenty. And the pieces they took up from the loaves made twelve basketfuls besides the pieces from the fish. There were five thousand men who ate the loaves.

As the day began to decline, the Twelve came up and said to Him, "Send the crowd off to the villages and farms around, to get lodging and to find food there, for we are in a destitute place here." But He said to them, "Give them something to eat yourselves." Then they said, "We have only five loaves and two fish, unless we go ourselves and buy food for all these people." For there were about five thousand men. So He said to His disciples, "Have them sit down in reclining groups of fifty each."read more.
And they did so, and made all the people sit down and recline. Then He took the five loaves and two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed them, and He broke them in pieces and gave them to the disciples to pass on to the people. And they all ate and had aplenty, and what they had left over was taken up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.

Then Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, "My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for it is now three days they have been staying with me, and they have nothing at all left to eat, and I fear they might give out on the way home." The disciples said to Him, "Where in this destitute place can we get bread enough to satisfy such a crowd?" Then Jesus asked them, "How many loaves have you on hand?" They answered, "Seven and a few small fish."read more.

"My heart goes out in pity for these people, for they have been staying with me three days now, and they have nothing left to eat. And if I send them home hungry, they will give out on the road, for some of them are a long way from home." But His disciples answered Him, "Where can anyone get bread enough here in this destitute place, to give these people plenty?"read more.

Just then a man in the crowd said to Him, "Tell my brother to share with me our inheritance." But He said to him, "Man, who made me a judge or umpire in your affairs?" And then He said to them, "Be ever on the alert and always on your guard against every form of greed, because a man's life does not consist in his possessions, even though they are abundant."read more.
Then He told them a story, as follows: "A certain rich man's lands yielded bountifully. So he began to argue with himself, 'What am I to do, because I have nowhere to store my crops?' Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and in them I will store all my grains and my goods. Then I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Go on taking your ease; continue to eat, drink, and enjoy yourself."' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is to be demanded of you. Then who will have all that you have prepared?' So it is with the man who continues to pile up possessions for himself, and is not rich in God."

For we bring nothing into the world and surely we can take nothing out of it. If we have food and clothes we will be satisfied. But men who keep planning to get rich fall into temptations and snares and many foolish, hurtful desires which plunge people into destruction and ruin.read more.
For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and some men in reaching after riches have wandered from the faith and pierced their hearts with many a pang.

He made Him who personally knew nothing of sin to be a sin-offering for us, so that through union with Him we might come into right standing with God.

But when Christ came as the High Priest of good things that have already taken place, He went by way of that greater and more perfect tent of worship, not made by human hands, that is, not belonging to this material creation, and not with blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He once for all went into the real sanctuary and secured our eternal redemption. how much more surely will the blood of Christ, who with an eternal Spirit gave Himself a spotless offering to God, purify your consciences from works that mean mere death, to serve the ever living God?

It is by this will of God that we are consecrated through the offering of Jesus' body once for all.

For Christ Himself, once for all, died for our sins, the Innocent for the guilty to bring us to God, being put to death in physical form but made alive in the Spirit,
