He said therefore to the multitudes that came forth to be baptized by him, Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance; and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

So then let us keep the feast, not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and the sincerity which is of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

For we are not as the many, who adulterate the word of God; but as from sincerity, but as from God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

Whatever ye do, do it from the heart, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that from the Lord ye will receive the recompense of the inheritance; serve Christ as your Lord.

Bondservants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as serving Christ; not with eyeservice as menpleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; doing service with good will, as to the Lord, and not to men;

Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;

in all things showing thyself a pattern of good works, in teaching showing uncorruptness, gravity,

I speak not by way of command, but by reason of the earnestness of others, and to prove the genuineness of your love.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an incorruptible love.

Now the end of the commandment is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned;

Let your love be unfeigned. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

For our teaching is not from error, nor from impurity, nor in guile; but as we have been regarded by God as worthy to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who trieth our hearts. Laying aside therefore all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all slander,

so that ye may approve the things that are most excellent, in order that ye may be pure and without offence against the day of Christ,
