ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit,
this knowing, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin;
For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;
And manifest also are the works of the flesh, which are: Adultery, whoredom, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strifes, emulations, wraths, rivalries, dissensions, sects, envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revellings, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things the reign of God shall not inherit.
Put to death, then, your members that are upon the earth -- whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry --
And Adam liveth an hundred and thirty years, and begetteth a son in his likeness, according to his image, and calleth his name Seth.
because of this, even as through one man the sin did enter into the world, and through the sin the death; and thus to all men the death did pass through, for that all did sin;
that which hath been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which hath been born of the Spirit is spirit. 'Thou mayest not wonder that I said to thee, It behoveth you to be born from above;
that which hath been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which hath been born of the Spirit is spirit.
because the mind of the flesh is enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself, for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
The wicked have been estranged from the womb, They have erred from the belly, speaking lies.
Crooked is the heart above all things, And it is incurable -- who doth know it?
And we are as unclean -- all of us, And as a garment passing away, all our righteous acts; And we fade as a leaf -- all of us. And our iniquities as wind do take us away.
if we may say -- 'we have not sin,' ourselves we lead astray, and the truth is not in us;
Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf -- a stone will he present to him? and if a fish he may ask -- a serpent will he present to him? if, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?
For, when nations that have not a law, by nature may do the things of the law, these not having a law -- to themselves are a law; who do shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also witnessing with them, and between one another the thoughts accusing or else defending,
for that which I work, I do not acknowledge; for not what I will, this I practise, but what I hate, this I do.
And if what I do not will, this I do, it is no longer I that work it, but the sin that is dwelling in me.
for the mind of the flesh is death, and the mind of the Spirit -- life and peace; because the mind of the flesh is enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,
and the natural man doth not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for to him they are foolishness, and he is not able to know them, because spiritually they are discerned;
and the death and the hades were cast to the lake of the fire -- this is the second death; and if any one was not found written in the scroll of the life, he was cast to the lake of the fire.
