And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said to Him, Art thou only a sojourner at Jerusalem, and hast not heard of the things which have been done there within these few days?

Now his parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover:

After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

The next day a great multitude that were come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm-trees,

Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those that dwell in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Capadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers from Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.

And he arose and went; and behold a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, and her high-treasurer, who had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning, and as he sat in his chariot, was reading the prophet Esaias:

and I have nothing to set before him:

And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.

And Jesus went into Jerusalem, and into the temple; and when He had looked round upon every thing, it being now late in the day, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

And as they were journeying, He entered into a certain village; and a woman named Martha received Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus, attending to his discourse. But Martha, being perplexed about much serving, came to Him and said, Lord, dost thou not regard it, that my sister has left me to serve alone? speak to her therefore that she may help me.read more.
And Jesus said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and in a hurry about many things: but one thing is necessary. And Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Therefore Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him: but Mary was sitting in the house.

And after two days he departed thence, and went into Cana of Galilee. For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet hath no honor in his own country. And when He was come into Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all that he did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went to the feast.read more.
Therefore Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water wine.

But Jacob hearing that there was corn in Egypt, sent out our fathers first: and at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known to Pharaoh. Then Joseph sent for his father Jacob, and all his kindred, even seventy-five souls.read more.
So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died there, he and our fathers:

I was naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye took care of me; I was in prison, and ye visited me.

or naked, and clothed thee? and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and visited thee? And the king replying will say unto them, Verily I declare unto you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of the lest of these my brethren, ye did it to me.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

and many of the Jews were come to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

A dissension therefore arising, and Paul and Barnabas having no small dispute with them, it was resolved that Paul and Barnabas, and some others, should go up to the apostles and elders at Jerusalem about this question.

Which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

Then it seemed good to the apostles, and elders, and the whole church, to send men chose from among themselves to Antioch along with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas sirnamed Barsabas, and Silas; leading men among the brethren:

Fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus also with me. But I went up according to a divine revelation, and laid before them the gospel which I preach among the gentiles: though privately to those of note, least I should run, or had run in vain.

And it came to pass that as Peter was going through all parts, he came down also to the saints that dwelt at Lydda.

And in these days came down prophets from Jerusalem to Antioch.

If Timothy should come, see that he be with you without fear: for he is employed in the work of the Lord, as I also am.

And we have sent with them another brother of ours, whom we have often proved diligent in many things, and now I doubt not much more on account of his great confidence in you. If then there be any inquiry about Titus, he is my collegue and fellow-laborer among you: and if our brethren be inquired after, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ. Therefore shew to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and the justness of our boasting concerning you.

But when Peter came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was indeed to be blamed.

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be refreshed, by knowing the state of your affairs.

And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, Let us return and visit our brethren in every city, where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are. And Barnabas proposed to take with them John, who was surnamed Mark. But Paul did not think proper to take him with them, who left them in Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.read more.
And there was a sharp dispute, so that they separated from each other; and Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus: but Paul chose Silas and departed, being recommended to the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia confirming the churches.

After these things, Paul purposed in spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia, and go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

but now having no more to detain me in these parts, and having had a great desire for many years to come to you, when I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I hope to see you as I pass by, and to be brought forward by you on my way thither, after I have first had some enjoyment of you. But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.read more.
For the Macedonians and Achaians have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor saints at Jerusalem. It pleased them, I say, and they are indeed their debtors; for if the Gentiles have partook of their spiritual things, they ought also to be helpful to them in carnal ones. Therefore when I have dispatched this, and sealed this fruit of love to them, I will come by you into Spain. And I know that when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

I will come to you, when I have passed through Macedonia; for I am to pass through Macedonia. And perhaps I shall stay a while, or even pass the winter with you; that ye may forward me on my journey, whithersoever I go.

And in this confidence I had a mind to come to you first, (that ye might have a second benefit,) and to pass by you into Macedonia; and then to come to you again from Macedonia, and by you to be forwarded on my way to Judea.

But I determined with myself, not to come to you again in grief:

Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not your substance, but your selves. For children are not expected to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

For ye yourselves, brethren, know our entrance among you, that it was not in vain.

When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, endeavour to come to me to Nicopolis: for there I have determined to winter.

And when the brethren heard of us, they came from thence to meet us, some as far as Appii-forum, and others to the Three-taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God and took courage.

However, I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother, and fellow-laborer, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, who ministred to my wants:

The Lord shew mercy to the family of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: but when he was at Rome, he sought for me the more diligently, and found me.

Endeavour to come to me soon: for Demas hath forsaken me, through love of this world, and is gone to Thessalonica; as is Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia: Luke only is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is useful to me in the ministry.read more.
And I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. When thou comest, bring with thee the cloke, that I left at Troas with Carpus; and the books, but especially the parchments.

Remember those that are in bonds, as if bound with them: and those that suffer evil as being yourselves also in the body.

Be not forgetful of hospitality; for thereby some have entertained angels, not knowing it.
