40 Bible Verses about Medicine

A merry heart is good medicine but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

He must have the entire inside of the house scraped. The plaster dust scraped off the walls must be dumped in an unclean place outside the city.

Those who touch his bed must wash their clothes and their bodies. They will be unclean until evening.

On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

Whenever the distressing spirit from God bothered Saul, David would play his harp. Saul would relax and feel better. The distressing spirit would go away.

The next day Jehovah let a distressing spirit take control of Saul. He began acting like a crazy man inside his house. David came to play the harp for Saul as usual. This time Saul had a spear in his hand.

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better to lose part of your body, than for your whole body to be destroyed in the ever-burning fire. (Figuratively: lose prospect for everlasting life; ever-burning fire means total destruction.)

for if you live according to flesh, you are about to die. If by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he did not take it.

From the bottom of your feet to the top of your head there is no healthy spot left on your body. You have only bruises, sores, and fresh wounds. They have not been cleansed, bandaged, or soothed with oil.

Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to those who are bitter.

Suddenly, one of them ran, took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink.

Jehovah will strike you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scab and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.

The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately corrupt. Who can understand it?

This is what Jehovah says: Your wound is incurable. Your injury is beyond healing. No one argues that you should be healed. But no medicine will heal you.

A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance. The spirit is broken by sorrow of the heart.

Surrender to Jehovah and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes. Let go of anger, and leave rage behind. Do not be agitated with anger and jealousy. It only leads to evil. For evildoers will be destroyed, but those who wait for Jehovah will inherit the land.read more.

Keep a spade among your tools. When you sit down outside use the spade to dig and cover up your excrement. Jehovah your God walks in the middle of your camp. He is there to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you. Therefore your camp must be holy. He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you.

Let us leave now and go back home. God has punished Babylon with all his might and has destroyed it completely.'
