Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe him.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire."
For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone's opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.
And they came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone's opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?"
So they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality, but truly teach the way of God.
This God--his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the holy places is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing
