But they who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all evils; which some coveting have strayed away from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many pangs.
Let no one when he is tempted, say, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempteth no one. But each one is tempted when by his own lust he is led away and enticed; then lust, having conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin, when completed, bringeth forth death.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever those who are sanctified.
