'Extortion' in the Bible
then it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty, that he shall restore what he took by robbery or what he got by extortion, or the deposit which was entrusted to him or the lost thing which he found,
Do not trust in oppression,And do not vainly hope in robbery;If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
If you see the extortion of the poor, or the perversion of justice and fairness in the government, do not be astonished by the matter. For the high official is watched by a higher official, and there are higher ones over them!
Surely, the practice of extortion turns a wise person into a fool,and a bribe destroys the mind.
