'Deliver' in the Bible

Return, O Lord, rescue my soul;Save me because of Your [unfailing] steadfast love and mercy.

O Lord my God, in You I take refuge;Save me and rescue me from all those who pursue me,

So that my enemy will not tear me like a lion,Dragging me away while there is no one to rescue [me].

Arise, O Lord, confront him, cast him down;Save my soul from the wicked with Your sword,

For You save an afflicted and humble people,But bring down those [arrogant fools] with haughty eyes.

They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—Even to the Lord [they cried], but He did not answer them.

He rescues me from my enemies;Yes, You lift me up above those who rise up against me;You deliver me from the man of violence.

“He trusted and committed himself to the Lord, let Him save him.Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him.”

Rescue my life from the sword,My only life from the paw of the dog (the executioner).

Guard my soul and rescue me;Do not let me be ashamed or disappointed,For I have taken refuge in You.

In You, O Lord, I have placed my trust and taken refuge;Let me never be ashamed;In Your righteousness rescue me.

Incline Your ear to me, deliver me quickly;Be my rock of refuge,And a strong fortress to save me.

My times are in Your hands;Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue and persecute me.

A horse is a false hope for victory;Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.

To rescue their lives from deathAnd keep them alive in famine.

All my bones will say, “Lord, who is like You,Who rescues the afflicted from him who is too strong for him [to resist alone],And the afflicted and the needy from him who robs him?”

“Save me from all my transgressions;Do not make me the scorn and reproach of the [self-righteous, arrogant] fool.

Be pleased, O Lord, to save me;O Lord, make haste to help me.

Blessed [by God’s grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless;The Lord will save him in the day of trouble.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive;And he will be called blessed in the land;You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies.

Judge and vindicate me, O God; plead my case against an ungodly nation.O rescue me from the deceitful and unjust man!

Rise up! Come be our help,And ransom us for the sake of Your steadfast love.

Call on Me in the day of trouble;I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.”

“Now consider this, you who forget God,Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be no one to rescue [you].

Rescue me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation;Then my tongue will sing joyfully of Your righteousness and Your justice.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;Set me securely on an inaccessibly high place away from those who rise up against me.

Deliver me from those who practice wrongdoing,And save me from bloodthirsty men.

O God, come quickly to save me;O Lord, come quickly to help me!

In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;Incline Your ear to me and save me.

Saying, “God has abandoned him;Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.”

May he bring justice to the poor among the people,Save the children of the needyAnd crush the oppressor,

Oh, do not hand over the soul of your turtledove to the wild beast;Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name;Rescue us, forgive us our sins for Your name’s sake.

Rescue the weak and needy;Rescue them from the hand of the wicked.

What man can live and not see death?Can he rescue his soul from the [powerful] hand of Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead)? Selah.

For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,And from the deadly pestilence.

“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].

“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble;I will rescue him and honor him.

Remember me, O Lord, when You favor Your people.Visit me with Your salvation [when You rescue them],

Many times He rescued them;But they were rebellious in their counsel,And sank down in their wickedness.

Save us, O Lord our God,And gather us from among the nations,That we may give thanks to Your holy nameAnd glory in praising You.

But You, O God, the Lord, show kindness to me, for Your name’s sake;Because Your lovingkindness (faithfulness, compassion) is good, O rescue me;

Then I called on the name of the Lord:“O Lord, please save my life!”

Redeem me from the oppression of man;That I may keep Your precepts.

Resh.Look upon my agony and rescue me,For I do not forget Your law.

Let my supplication come before You;Deliver me according to Your word.

Rescue my soul, O Lord, from lying lips,And from a deceitful tongue.

Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men;Protect me from violent men.

“Give attention to my cry,For I am brought very low;Rescue me from my persecutors,For they are stronger than I.

Rescue me, O Lord, from my enemies;I take refuge in You.

Stretch out Your hand from above;Set me free and rescue me from great waters,Out of the hands of [hostile] foreigners [who surround us]

Set me free and rescue me from the hand of [hostile] foreigners,Whose mouth speaks deceit [without restraint],And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
