'Refuse' in the Bible

Then she went and sat down by herself across from him at quite a distance, about a bowshot away; for she thought, "I refuse to watch the child die." So she sat across from him and wept uncontrollably.

"Listen, sir, you are a mighty prince among us! You may bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb to prevent you from burying your dead."

But if you refuse to release them, then I am going to plague all your territory with frogs.

A lion has roared! Who is not afraid? The sovereign Lord has spoken! Who can refuse to prophesy?

You refuse to believe a day of disaster will come, but you establish a reign of violence.

But if any of the nations anywhere on earth refuse to go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord who rules over all, they will get no rain.

But Jesus replied, "Woe to you experts in religious law as well! You load people down with burdens difficult to bear, yet you yourselves refuse to touch the burdens with even one of your fingers!

So Pilate said, "Do you refuse to speak to me? Don't you know I have the authority to release you, and to crucify you?"

Take care not to refuse the one who is speaking! For if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less shall we, if we reject the one who warns from heaven?
