'Sent' in the Bible

and sent out a raven; it kept flying back and forth until the waters had dried up on the earth.

So Jacob sent a message for Rachel and Leah to come to the field where his flocks were.

If the God of my father -- the God of Abraham, the one whom Isaac fears -- had not been with me, you would certainly have sent me away empty-handed! But God saw how I was oppressed and how hard I worked, and he rebuked you last night."

Jacob sent messengers on ahead to his brother Esau in the land of Seir, the region of Edom.

I have oxen, donkeys, sheep, and male and female servants. I have sent this message to inform my lord, so that I may find favor in your sight.'"

Jacob stayed there that night. Then he sent as a gift to his brother Esau

So the gifts were sent on ahead of him while he spent that night in the camp.

He took them and sent them across the stream along with all his possessions.

So Jacob said to him, "Go now and check on the welfare of your brothers and of the flocks, and bring me word." So Jacob sent him from the valley of Hebron.

While they were bringing her out, she sent word to her father-in-law: "I am pregnant by the man to whom these belong." Then she said, "Identify the one to whom the seal, cord, and staff belong."

When morning came, the men and their donkeys were sent off.

Now, do not be upset and do not be angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to preserve life!

God sent me ahead of you to preserve you on the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

They told Moses, "We went to the land where you sent us. It is indeed flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

The men whom Moses sent to investigate the land, who returned and made the whole community murmur against him by producing an evil report about the land,

Then Moses said, "This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will.

So Moses sent them to the war, one thousand from every tribe, with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who was in charge of the holy articles and the signal trumpets.

Your fathers did the same thing when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.

I thought this was a good idea, so I sent twelve men from among you, one from each tribe.

So the king of Jericho sent this order to Rahab: "Turn over the men who came to you -- the ones who came to your house -- for they have come to spy on the whole land!"

She said, "I agree to these conditions." She sent them on their way and then tied the red rope in the window.

The city and all that is in it must be set apart for the Lord, except for Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house, because she hid the spies we sent.

Yet Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, her father's family, and all who belonged to her. She lives in Israel to this very day because she hid the messengers Joshua sent to spy on Jericho.

Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai (which is located near Beth Aven, east of Bethel) and instructed them, "Go up and spy on the land." So the men went up and spied on Ai.

Joshua sent messengers who ran to the tent. The things were hidden right in his tent, with the silver underneath.

Joshua and the whole army marched against Ai. Joshua selected thirty thousand brave warriors and sent them out at night.

Joshua sent them away and they went to their hiding place west of Ai, between Bethel and Ai. Joshua spent that night with the army.

So King Adoni-Zedek of Jerusalem sent this message to King Hoham of Hebron, King Piram of Jarmuth, King Japhia of Lachish, and King Debir of Eglon:

The men of Gibeon sent this message to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, "Do not abandon your subjects! Rescue us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings living in the hill country are attacking us."

I was forty years old when Moses, the Lord's servant, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy on the land and I brought back to him an honest report.

Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then.

He sent messengers to Abimelech, who was in Arumah, reporting, "Beware! Gaal son of Ebed and his brothers are coming to Shechem and inciting the city to rebel against you.
