Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and do not have love, I have become like loud sounding brass, or a clashing cymbal.

Discretion will protect you. Understanding will watch over you. It will deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things. Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness? read more.
Who rejoice in doing evil? They delight in the perversity of the wicked. The wicked are crooked. They are devious in their ways.

There are those who rebel against the light. They are not acquainted with its ways, and do not stay in its paths. The murderer rises at dusk to kill the poor and needy, and in the night is like a thief. The eye of the adulterer also waits for the twilight. He says: 'No eye will see me.' Then he disguises his face. read more.
In the dark they dig through houses. By day they shut themselves up. They do not know the light.

The wise man's eyes are in his head, but the foolish man walks in darkness. Yet I saw that the same event happens to them all.

He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness! He who loves his brother lives in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling (offence) in him. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he goes because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

He who loves his brother lives in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling (offence) in him. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he goes because the darkness has blinded his eyes. I write to you, my little children, because your sins are forgiven on account of his name.

But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he goes because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer! You know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer! You know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. By this we know love, because he (Jesus) gave his life for us. We ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. read more.
Whoever has this world's goods and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him? My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.

Beloved let us love one another, for love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God for God is love. The love of God was made known through us. God sent his only-begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. read more.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atonement) (sacrificial payment) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment you had from the beginning. This old commandment is the word that you heard. Then again, I do write a new commandment to you. This is true in him and in you. The darkness is passing away, and the true light already shines. He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness! read more.

Jesus answered: Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walks in the day he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world.

([Psalm of David]) Vindicate me, O Jehovah, because I have walked with (a life-style of) integrity and I have trusted you without wavering.

The mouth of the righteous reflects on wisdom. His tongue speaks what is fair. The law of his God is in his heart. His steps do not waver (slip).

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God, and of our Savior Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord! His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. This is through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue (excellence). read more.
He offered us his precious and exceedingly great promises. Through these you may become partakers of the divine nature. You will escape from the corruption that is in the lust-filled world. Yes, for this very reason you do your part with all diligence. Supply virtue to your faith. Add knowledge to your virtue. Include self-control with your knowledge. Supply patience to your self-control. Your patience should be helped by godliness. Add brotherly kindness to your godliness. And to your brotherly kindness add love. For if these things are yours and abound in you they will keep you from being inactive or unfruitful regarding the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. Brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election (choosing) sure. If you do (practice) (exercise) (apply) these things, you will never stumble!
