Think not that I am come to abrogate the law, or the prophets: I am not come to abolish, but to compleat them: for verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from the law, till all be compleated. Whosoever therefore shall break one of the left of these commandments, and thereby teach men so to do, he shall be esteemed very little in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do as well as teach them, he shall be accounted great in the kingdom of heaven.

And when it was evening they brought to him many demoniacs: and he cast out the evil spirits with a word, and healed all that were ill: that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, He took our infirmities himself, and bore our diseases.

And in the evening, when the sun set, they brought to Him all that were ill, and demoniacs: and the whole city was gathered together at the door; and He healed many that were ill of various diseases, and cast out many devils, and suffered not the devils to say that they knew Him.

And at sun-set all that had any persons sick of any diseases, brought them to Him: and He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out from many, crying out, Thou art the Messiah the Son of God. And He rebuked them, and suffered them not to say, that they knew Him to be the Christ.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin:

For that which was impossible for the law to do, and in which it was weak through the corruption of the flesh, God by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sacrifice for sin, hath done; that is, hath condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.

(for then He must indeed have suffered often since the foundation of the world) but now once at the conclusion of the ages He hath been made manifest for the abolishing of sin by the sacrifice of himself.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth passed away, and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all that were selling and buying in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves: and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called the house of prayer," but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And He taught them, saying, Is it not written, my house shall be called an house of prayer for all nations? But ye have made it a den of thieves.

And He went into the temple, and cast out those that were buying and selling in it, saying unto them, It is written, "my house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves."

And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads, and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it again in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: yea we establish the law.

For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and removed the wall of partition from between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might form the two into one new man, in Himself, so making peace; and that He might reconcile both in one body unto God, by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity:

For the law having but a faint shadow of good things to come, and not the full image of the things, can never, even by the great annual sacrifices which they offer statedly, make the comers thereunto perfect. For then they would have ceased to be offered, because the sacrificers, being once purified, would no longer retain any consciousness of sins. Whereas in these very sacrifices there is a recalling of sins to mind every year.read more.
For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore upon his coming into the world He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me: in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: then said I, Lo I come, as in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God." Having said before, "Thou didst not desire, nor hadst pleasure in, sacrifice and offering, and whole burnt-offerings, and sacrifices for sin," (which are offered by the law) then He adds, "Lo I come to do thy will, O God." (He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.) By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

This then I say, that the law, which was given four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul the covenant, which was so long before confirmed by God unto Christ, to make void the promise. For if the inheritance be from the law, it is no more from the promise: whereas God gave it to Abraham by promise.

for if they only that are of the law be heirs, faith is made useless, and the promise is become of no effect.

And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted by the Jews? for then the offence of the cross is ceased.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us: for it is written, "Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"

Then will be the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God even the Father; when He shall have abolished all rule, and all authority, and power. For he must reign till He hath put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy that is destroyed is death:

And when this corruptible shall be clothed with incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the word that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory." O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

but now made manifest by the appearance of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light by the gospel: for which I was appointed an herald,

And whereas the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks look for wisdom, we preach Christ crucified; to the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness; but to them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

for I did not think it meet to know any thing among you, but Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.

But God forbid that I should glory, unless in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but being created anew.

Who hath also fitted us to be ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life. Now if the ministration of death which was in writing, and engraven on stones, was so glorious that the children of Israel could not look stedfastly on the face of Moses, because of the lustre of his countenance, which was to be taken away: shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more glorious?read more.
For if the ministration of condemnation was so glorious, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory: since what was then made glorious was not in comparison glorious, because of the glory that surpasseth it. For if that, which was to be taken away, came with glory, much more that which abideth is glorious. Having therefore such hope, we use much freedom of speech: and do not as Moses, who put a veil upon his face, intimating that the children of Israel could not look to the end of that which was to be abolished; but their minds were blinded: for unto this day the same veil remaineth unremoved in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ. But to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Though when it turneth unto the Lord, the veil is taken off: now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
