Is there any wise and understanding man among you? let him shew his works by a good conversation in the meekness of wisdom:

a good tree cannot produce evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit: and every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. So then by their fruits ye will know them.

Either allow the tree to be good, and it's fruit good; or shew the tree to be corrupt, and it's fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by it's fruit.

Ye did not first choose me, but I chose you, and have appointed you to go forth, and bear fruit, and that your fruit should be lasting: that whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, He may give it you.

And thus, my brethren, ye also are dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye might become another's, even his who is raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions while we were under the law operated in our bodies so as to bring forth fruit unto death.

And let our brethren-also learn to excel in good works for necessary exigencies, that they may not be unfruitful.

What is the advantage, my brethren, if any one say that he has faith, and he hath not works, can faith alone save him? so faith, if it have not works, being alone, is dead. But one may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith by thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble. But desirest thou to know, O vain man, that faith without works, is dead? consider, Was not our father Abraham justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? Thou seest that faith co-operated with his works, and that by his works his faith was perfected. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God. Ye see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. And in like manner also was not the harlot Rahab justified by works, when she entertained the spies, and let them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law.

For they who are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they who are led by the Spirit, do mind spiritual things. Now to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace:

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment; that ye may try things that differ, that ye may be sincere and without offence until the day of Christ; being full of the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.

But the wisdom that is from above first is pure, then peaceable, mild, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

But that on the good ground, are those who having heard the word, retain it in a good and honest heart, and bring forth fruit with patience.

But he who received the seed into good ground, is one that heareth and understandeth the word, who indeed beareth fruit, and yieldeth, like fertile lands, some an hundred-fold, some sixty, some thirty.

And these are they who are like seed sown on good ground: such as hear the word, and receive it; and bring forth fruit, some thirty-fold, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

Though I tell you indeed and in truth, Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it remaineth alone; but if it die, it produceth much fruit.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin:

for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.

And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires.

which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.

Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, disorderly passion, evil concupiscence, and insatiable desire, which is indeed idolatry: for which things the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. But now put away all these also, wrath, animosity, malice, calumny, and filthy discourse out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing ye have put off the old man with his evil practices; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of Him that created him.

Be not deceived, God is not to be mocked: for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. He then, who soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he, that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in doing good: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

So also do ye reckon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield your bodies as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your bodies as instruments of righteousness to God.read more.
For sin shall have no power over you, inasmuch as ye are not under the law, but under grace.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

For ye were heretofore darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord: walk therefore as children of light, (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,)

that ye may walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Put on therefore, as the elect of God holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, benignity, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one has a complaint against any: even as Christ hath forgiven you, so also do ye. And above all these put on love, which is the band of perfection.read more.
And let the peace of God preside in your hearts, to which ye are also called as united in one body: and be thankful for it.

Flee youthful passions: and follow righteousness, fidelity, love, and peace, with all those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart:

And to this giving all diligence, add to your faith fortitude; and to fortitude knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience piety; and to piety brotherly affection; and to brotherly affection charity.read more.
For if these be in you and abound, they will not suffer you to be idle, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue only, but in deed and in truth.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman: every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away, and every one that beareth fruit, He purgeth, that it may bear more fruit.
