for unto this day the same veil remaineth unremoved in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ. But to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Though when it turneth unto the Lord, the veil is taken off:

Owe no one any thing, but to love one another; for he that loveth others hath fulfilled the law: for this command, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet, and every other social precept, is summed up in this, namely, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Love worketh no evil to our neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

For all the law is fulfilled in one precept, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might form the two into one new man, in Himself, so making peace;

and cancelled the obligation we were under by ritual decrees, which was grievous to us, and hath taken it quite away, even nailing it to his cross.

For there is indeed a disannulling of the preceding command, on account of it's weakness and unprofitableness;

Now by saying, a new covenant, He hath antiquated the first: and what is antiquated, and groweth old, is near it's exit.

For the law having but a faint shadow of good things to come, and not the full image of the things, can never, even by the great annual sacrifices which they offer statedly, make the comers thereunto perfect.

What then availeth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come, to whom the promise was made; and it was delivered by angels in the hand of a mediator.

knowing this, that a law does not lie against a righteous person, but against the lawless and unruly, the impious and wicked, the unholy and profane,

So that the law was our guide to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Beware therefore, least what is spoken in the prophets come upon you, "Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and vanish; for I do a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though any one should declare it unto you." And when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were determined for eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was spread through the whole country: but the Jews stirred up devout and honorable women, and the heads of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their territories. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the holy Spirit.

And as he began to speak openly in the synagogue, Aquila and Priscilla heard him and took him home, and expounded to him the way of God more perfectly.

And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and according to his custom He went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and stood up to read.

And he immediately preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

So that the law is holy; and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

But having obtained help of God, I continue until this day, testifying both to small and great, and saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses declared should come to pass; even that the Messiah should suffer, and being the first of the resurrection from the dead should bring light to the people and to the Gentiles."

But now, without the law, righteousness before God is manifested, being attested by the law and the prophets; and this righteousness of God is by faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all believers; for there is no difference;

Now there is but one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou then that judgest another?

On these two precepts depend all the law and the prophets.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord, and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:" this is the first or chief commandment, and the second is like it, even this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:" there is no other commandment greater than these. read more.

For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed be every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them. And that by the law no one is justified before God is evident; for it is written "The just shall live by faith:" now the law is not of faith, but saith, "The man that doth them, shall live in them."

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; knowing this, that a law does not lie against a righteous person, but against the lawless and unruly, the impious and wicked, the unholy and profane, parricides, murderers, whoremongers, sodomites, kidnappers, liars, false-swearers, and if there be any thing else contrary to that sound doctrine,

Think not that I am come to abrogate the law, or the prophets: I am not come to abolish, but to compleat them: for verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from the law, till all be compleated.

Christ is become nothing to you, whosoever of you are seeking to be justified by the law: ye are fallen from the grace of the gospel. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

for when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature the duties of the law, these though they have not the law, are a law to themselves, and shew the work of the law written on their hearts, their conscience witnessing together with it, and their own thoughts either accusing, or excusing them,)

What shall we say then? that the Gentiles, who sought not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith; but Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness: why? because they sought it not by faith, but by the works of the law, for they stumbled at that stumbling-stone; read more.
as it is written, "Behold I lay in Sion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence:" and again, "Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed."

Therefore we conclude, that a man is justified by faith, without the works of the law: or is He the God of the Jews only, and not also of the Gentiles? surely of the Gentiles also: seeing it is one God who will justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision also through faith. read more.
Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: yea we establish the law.

Therefore as by the offence of one the effect of it was upon all men to condemnation: so also by the righteousness of one, the effect was upon all men to justification of life.
