If the world hates you, ye know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

For let no one of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other men's matters; but, if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.

And when did we see Thee a stranger, and took Thee in; or naked, and clothed Thee? And, when did we see Thee sick, or in prison, and came to Thee?' "And, answering, the King will say to them, 'Verily I say to you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of My brethren, even the least, ye did it to Me.'
And whosoever shall cause to stumble one of these little ones, who believe, it were better for him, if a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come!
and, having fallen upon the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who art Thou, Lord?" And He said, "I am Jesus Whom you are persecuting.
And ye will be hated by all for My name's sake; but he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.

But all these things will they do to you for My name's sake; because they know not Him Who sent Me.
"Think not that I came to send peace on the earth; I came not to send peace, but a sword; for I came to set a man at variance with his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and the man's foes will be those of his own house-hold.
Think ye that I came to give peace in the earth? I tell you, nay, but rather division. For from this time forth five in one house will be divided, three against two, and two against three; they will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against the mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against the mother-in-law."

But Saul was laying waste the assembly, entering house after house; and, dragging men and women, was committing them to prison.
And Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, going to the high priest, asked from him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that, if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers, who, indeed, will stealthily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction:
They will put you out of the synagogues; yea, an hour is coming, that every one who kills you will think that he is offering service to God.
and he said, "Behold I see Heaven opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God!" But, crying out with a loud voice, they closed their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord; and, having thrust him forth outside of the city, they kept stoning him! And the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul.read more.
And they were stoning Stephen, calling and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" And, kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice, "Lord, lay not this sin to them!" And, having said this, he fell asleep.
Now about that time Herod the king put forth his bands to harm some of the assembly. And he slew James, the brother of John, with the sword;
I, verily, therefore, imagined to myself that it was proper that I should do many things contrary to the name of Jesus, the Nazarene; which also I did in Jerusalem; and many of the saints also did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the high priests; and, when they were being put to death, I have given a vote against them;
And, when He opened the fifth seal, I saw, underneath the altar, the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they were holding.
but I say to you, Love your enemies; and pray for those who persecute you; that ye may be sons of your Father Who is in Heaven; because He causeth His sun to rise on evil men and on good, and sendeth rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies; do good to those who hate you; bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you. "To him who smites you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, withhold not your coat also.
And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" And, dividing His garments among them, they cast lots.

not returning evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but, on the contrary, blessing; because to this end ye were called, that ye might inherit a blessing.

And, when they came to the place that is called "The Skull," there they crucified Him, and the malefactors; one on the right hand, and the other on the left. And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" And, dividing His garments among them, they cast lots.
But, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for, in doing this, you will heap coals of fire upon his head.
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, tempting Him, saying, "Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit eternal life?" And He said to him, "What has been written in the law? How do you read?" And he, answering, said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."read more.

And Jesus, answering, said, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers; who, both stripping him and inflicting blows, went away, leaving him half dead. And by chance, a certain priest was going down that way; and, seeing him, he passed by on the opposite side. And, in like manner, a Levite also, coming to the place, and seeing him, passed by on the opposite side. But a certain Samaritan, going on his way, came down to him; and, seeing him, he was moved with compassion; and, coming to him, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and, setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And, on the morrow, taking out two denaries, he gave them to the host, and said, 'Take care of him; and whatsoever you expend additional, I, when I return, will repay you.' Which, therefore, of these three seems to you to have become neighbor of him who fell among the robbers?" And he said, "He that dealt kindly with him." And Jesus said to him, "Go, and do likewise."
Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, is going about, seeking whom he may devour;
The Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the proclamation might be fully announced, and that all the gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of a lion. The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will bring me safe into His heavenly Kingdom; to Whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same kinds of sufferings are being accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.
(for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God for the casting down of strongholds);
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil; because to us the struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.read more.
On this account, take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day; and, having fully accomplished all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having girded your loins about with truth, and having put on the breast-plate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; withal having taken up the shield of faith, with which ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: with all prayer and supplication praying at every opportunity in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;
I desire, therefore, that younger widows marry, bear children, rule a house-hold, give no occasion to the adversary for reproach; for already some turned aside after Satan.
I have contended in the noble contest, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.
I pray not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.
And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him Who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head have all been numbered.read more.
Fear not, therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows.
but I prayed for you, that your faith fail not; and, when once you have turned again, establish your brethren."
henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will recompense to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.
As the last enemy, death is abolished;
but now made manifest through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus; Who abolished death, and brought to light life and incorruption through the Gospel;
And Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.
And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no more; neither mourning, nor crying, nor pain, shall be any more; because the first things passed away."
