For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life;

and hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the holy Spirit, Who was given to us.

He that loves not never knew God; because God is love. In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him. The Lord is not slow respecting the promise, as some account slowness; but He is long-suffering toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

And what if God, willing to show forth His wrath and to make known His power, endured with much long-suffering vessels of wrath fitted for destruction;

but for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me, as chief, Christ Jesus might show forth all His longsuffering for an example to those about to believe on Him unto eternal life.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
